Photos of a Parade in WWII Hawaii

Hawaii is a state in the Western United States located in the Pacific Ocean about 2,000 miles (3,200 km) from the U.S. mainland. It is the only state outside North America, the only state that is an archipelago, and the only state in the tropics. Hawaii is also one of a small number of U.S. states that was once an independent nation.

On December 7, 1941, the United States suffered one of the worst attacks on American soil when the Japanese navy staged a surprise strike on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. The attack killed 2,403 Americans and left 1,178 others wounded. Just a few hours after the attack, the U.S. formally entered World War II.

Here below is a small album of photos taken at a parade in wartime Hawaii.
