Born in Mexico City, José Bolaños (1935-1994) was known as something of a playboy, but was also a writer, director and producer of Mexican cinema.
Bolaños was married to Italian actress Venetia Vianello. In 1962, he escorted Marilyn Monroe during the Golden Globes. One year after her death, he told Motion Picture magazine that they were about to marry and adopt a child. This statement was never proven.
