The Carpenters host their first Christmas TV special with guests Kristy McNichol, Harvey Korman, Burr Tillstrom, and Kukla and Ollie (minus Fran). Many of the songs were from Spike Jones’ 1956 Christmas Spectacular, which Karen and Richard listened to as children.
This is a classic variety show with lushly orchestrated special material combined with a generous helping of the Carpenter’s classic Christmas songs. Musical highlights include: “Home For The Holidays,” “Sleigh Ride,” “Winter Wonderland,” and “O Holy Night.”
