Spring Heels Make Walking Easier, 1939

These spring heels were claimed to be the latest aid for prolonging life by their inventor, a Swiss shoemaker, in 1939. The lower portion of the heel was attached to the upper by means of small springs. These eliminate all jars to the various organs of the body which were experienced by wearers of ordinary shoes.
