Jimi Hendrix photographed amid smoke and flames for his album Electric Ladyland in London, 1968. He appears to be swallowed by the green and purple smoke, a fitting reference to his iconic song, “Purple Haze.” Photographer David Montgomery actually created a fire in his studio with lighter fluid in order to create the smokey atmosphere.
