A Marilyn Monroe signed United States Department of Defense Identification Card used in 1954 while she was entertaining troops in Korea. She signed the card with her legal name at the time, Norma Jeane DiMaggio.
At this time Marilyn Monroe was married to Joe DiMaggio, the baseball great. She turned out to be more than another conquest for Joe. Marilyn would become the woman he loved more than any other. On January 14, 1954, the two were married in a small civil ceremony out of the spotlight, a rarity for both of them. But the marriage only lasted 9 months.
