In the 1990s, Hanoi still retained much of its traditional charm with narrow streets, bustling markets, and colonial-era architecture. However, there were also signs of modernization with the emergence of new buildings, businesses, and transportation infrastructure.

The cityscape was a mix of old and new, reflecting Vietnam’s transition towards a more market-oriented economy. It was a dynamic time of transformation and growth for the capital city.
