Orgosolo is a comune (municipality) located in the Province of Nuoro, in the autonomous region of Sardinia, at about 110 kilometres (68 mi) north of Cagliari and about 13 kilometres (8 mi) south of Nuoro.

Orgosolo has a reputation for bandits, kidnapping… and political murals. The tradition of mural painting started in the late 1960s and continues today. The murals show resistance to injustice at home and abroad.
