Glamour is a women’s fashion magazine founded in 1939 in the United States. It was originally Glamour of Hollywood, and changed its name to Glamour in August 1943, with the subtitle for the girl with the job.
In 1968, the magazine chose college student Katiti Kironde to model on its cover for the August college issue, making history for both Glamour, the first women’s magazine to feature an African-American cover girl, and Kironde, the first black woman on the cover of a women’s magazine. That issue remains Glamour’s best-selling issue.
