These candid photographs were taken by Paul McCartney’s fans from between the late 1960s to early 1970s. Most people would love to take pictures with their favorite celebrities and get their autographs to immortalize that moment. However, the Beatles fans have struggled to get mementos from the remaining members due to Paul’s decision.

Paul McCartney loves his fans, but he really hates selfies. The musician has grown tired of posing for photos with fans because they are usually “ropey photos with a poor background,” making him look bad. All he wants to do with his fans is have a friendly chat, exchange stories, and create an actual bond.
He said: “Always struck me as a bit strange. ‘Here, can I write your name down on the back of this till receipt, please?’ Why? We both know who I am. What you’ve usually got is a ropey photo with a poor backdrop and me looking a bit miserable. Let’s chat. Let’s exchange stories.”
