Manhattan in the Late 1970s Through a Spanish Photographer’s Lens

Born 1949 in Badalona, Barcelona, Spanish photographer Manel Armengol studied Journalism at CIC Barcelona and started working as a freelance journalist for various newspapers and magazines at Barcelona and Madrid in 1971.

Armengol has been traveling many countries all over the world and took a lot of fascinating pictures. His main genres included architecture, documentary, flora, landscape, still-life, poesy… These color photos he documented daily life of Manhattan in 1978 that defined the face of New York in the late 1970s.
